Our family’s roots in the HVAC industry stretch across three generations, beginning with Wayne Pennington — Chris’s father‑in‑law and Andrew’s maternal grandfather. Wayne entered the HVAC field in 1957 while serving in the United States Air Force. After completing his service, he continued honing his craft with several local companies before taking a leap of faith in 1967 and opening Wayne’s Heating and Air Conditioning.

In 1970, Wayne’s daughter Leslie was born. Years later, in 1996, Leslie married Chris. At the time, Chris was working in another industry, but he soon began helping Wayne part‑time and discovered a passion for the trade. Not long after, Chris and Leslie took their own leap of faith. On November 1st, 1996, they opened Chapman Heating and Cooling, with Leslie managing the office and Chris serving customers out in the field. Just a few weeks later, their son Andrew was born.

Chris and Wayne worked side by side for many years until Wayne’s retirement in 2017. Andrew grew up around the business, helping Chris in the field throughout his youth and into adulthood. After gaining experience in another line of work, Andrew officially joined Chapman Heating and Cooling full‑time on March 1st, 2022, carrying the family tradition into its third generation.

Today, we are proud of the 70 year legacy our family has built — a legacy grounded in hard work, integrity, and service to our community. We look forward to continuing this story and passing it on to the generations still to come.
